Urban Outdoor Adventurers 718 is an outdoors youth program based in Washington Heights, New York. The program uses the outdoors as a tool to motivate, inspire, and strengthen youth as they become young adults in their community and in New York City.
Our youth and young adults work on hard and soft skills where they can apply it in their academic life and future professional career. Communication, team-building, leadership skills lead them to develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and positive attitude.
The program gives youth the time and space to work on themselves, make mistake, and learn from it. While working on these life skills, they also work on their physical, emotional, and mental health. Activities like hiking, backpacking, canoeing, and cycling are used as metaphors of life obstacles and challenges to help figure out how to tackle them.
